Hi all
I was a bit shocked when I was just browsing on the net and went into two sites: https://www.118118.co.uk and https://www.192.co.uk and searched my name and both searches come up with my phone number even though I am ex directory.
Or is there no such thing any more?
I am not listed in any local phone book as check each time we get a new one delivered.
Anyone know how to get "delisted" on these sites?

How long have you been ex-directory?
I am and I'm not on either site.
In fact 192 are still listing my dad on the Electoral Roll and he died in 2003 despite the fact that I had his name taken off.0 -
Most of the electoral roll info is a few years old on these sites! I'm not sure about the phone numbers though! Just checked mine and I'm not on there, was your number originally listed and then removed? If you're concerned then call BT, they won't be able to remove it but should be able to tell you how to do it.0

I have been ex directory for over 30 years and my phone number has changed at least 3 times over that period.
As I say it's not in the local phone book.0 -
Can't imagine how it got there then -sorry0

:j You may want to check that you are really Ex Directory! There is three options avilable, 1st: name printed in local book and avilable at DQ Services, 2nd: DQ services only, 3rd: no listing in phone book or DQ services. Check with your line rental provider, to make sure you are correctly listed as Ex Directory.

Hi
the 192.com website gets the information from the electrol roll, it is nothing to do with BT. I believe that you can tick a box when you get the annual form which says you do not want your information given out if you do not tick it then the information is available to anyone.

you are right 192.com do get the details from the annual electrol roll, but the electrol does not contain individuals phone numbers, it only contains name and address, d.o.b is also included in the unedited register. The only way DQ services can have your number is direct from your line rental provider, unless they have unlawfully obtained your number from a marketing list. The views expressed on this website, be they in text, pictures or sound, are my own personal views. Are there rules for DQ providers to prevent them consolidating marketing lists
to create/update their DQ files ? (thus bypassing the ex-directory filter on the
BT file)
I would have expected 192.com to have bought the BT DQ file.0
