On that note - is it now The Post Office and Talk Talk which still remain the only companies to install phone lines, are there any others I can look at?

If you have a BT line you wouldnt need a line installed, their are lots of suppliers that will take it over eg. Phone Coop, Euphony, Madasafish, Telecom Plus, etc etc. Some will require payment by dd.

If you use the likes of www.18185.co.uk for cheaper calls only BT have to allow access to short code access numbers.

To confirm a couple of quesitons asked earlier:

The instalation/connection fee is standard for both new instalations and line re-starts.
The cessation fee will remain at £70 even for the 24 month contract.
The price increase from £49.99 to £89.99 is scheduled for May 1st.

    Cheers

    installation -2 "Ls" :)

If TT management let you get away with that they'll be moving their call centres to countries where they speak like you spell.

We need a new line - we don't have a landline at all, we got rid of BT last year.

Most of the companies mentioned by billsavings also connect new lines.
  • Hi Emma

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I've just been on the phone to your colleagues at talk talk about getting a new line connected. They went through it all and agreed everything, she then put me on hold and spoke to another dept who told me I would have to pay £15 for my broadband, my local exchange is talk talk enabled (postcode HR1 1HA) so why are they trying to charge me £15 for the broadband????

I'm certainly not going to proceed with the order as I can get my broadband considerably cheaper elsewhere.

Any ideas why they are trying to charge me for this when I have checked the exchange and it's all fine???

Jemma-T - sorry didn't realise typo's were not allowed. I have a lot of work not only on this forum (PMs as well as posts) but on others also. I would have thought accurate information regarding the tariffs and costing along with resolving customers issues was more important to most than the odd typo. We all make mistakes. Personally I'd rather make sure everyone is responded to with the correct information.

    Rickster1978,

If your local exchange has no capacity for more LLU customers you would be placed on £15 broadband until capacity became available. What exchange are you on (can send via PM if you like) and I'll check it out for you.

    Cheers

That should actually be "typos" -plural, not a possessive noun like "typo's". If you don't know this then you should ignore my comments and concentrate -as you say- on your business. I only hope you're better at that than the English language.

I don't mean to attack you (I don't think I am, it's not personal), I'm simply commenting on the unprofessional nature of a privately run company by allowing you to speak on their behalf.

Its an informal forum - I didn't realise the use of formal grammar etc was a requirement??!! Anyway - I have far more important things to do with my time so I'm off to help some customers.
