New car seat for 3 year old ?

Can somebody recommend a new car seat / booster chair for our 3 year old daughter please. We currently have a Britax Eclipse in our Ford Focus.

We were told a while back once the childs eye level reaches almost the height of the chair then its time to get a new one.

I know to look in Mothercare World and to ask them for advice, but would like others opinions and experiences first.

    Hi

When our three year old grew out of her maxi cosi priori I was not comfortable with the alternatives, since her car seat was firmly attached to the car. I started looking around and I found maxi cosi's next stage car seat (rodi xp) to be one of the best around. I looked on a couple of websites that have tested car seats (AA and which?) and this seat looked pretty good. It still has high side impact protectors which also help support her head when she falls asleep. I never liked the fact that the next stage car seats are not fixed in, but I have got used to it, the main purpose of them is to simply keep the seatbelt off their necks. I got the rodi on line for about £70 (tested it in Mothercare first) the XP has better side protection than the non-XP and it last until they are 11.

I hadn't heard of the rule about eye level, its really to do with weight.

    Hope this helps

I think this is to stop whiplash ( head over the top edge ) as the child would be too tall for the seat.
