MSE Revolt against REDC auction house

All,

I'd like to thank all those that have given us support to date.

For those that would like a bit more background see REDC Repossesion website up and running BUYER BEWARE ! and other posts.

As support gathers, I would like to create a thread of support against this company, and any suggestions others would like to make.

I hope that it will be helpful and informative to others.

Note to Andyb2009 who is also in the same position as me.

Regards
Rich

  • They are probably just here to fleece the gullible.
  • If someone is already going along, why not stand outside and give out some A5 leaflets explaining their "shady" terms.

However, if the tick box asks you to agree to something that you cannot see it wouldn't stand up in court.
    regards

    Mark

Why would I revolt against a company I will never use as a buyer or seller?

because you are a moneysaver and you stand in solidarity against anyone trying to rip people off
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Yes and no. Presumably nobody is being forced to buy from this company. It might be useful for sellers to consider offers. As I said, I wouldn't use this company, but neither would I revolt against it. We live in a free world.

  • My apologies, perhaps i incorrectly titled the thread. I was not someone to do something that they did not want to..

    The point was
    a) To inform others that may be in the same position
    b) warn others that were thinking of buying from the auction - there has been heavy media advertising
    c) anyone else that wanted to show their support

My apologies to those who think we are moaning. I understand that there are others who have had experiences far worse then mine. But on the other side of the coin, the vendors are selling the house at a deflated price at auction (presumably), whilst we are offering a decent price now.

For those wondering, we did not go out specifically looking for a repossession. It was up for sale with a local EA, and didnt realise it was a repo until we viewed the house.

    Thanks again

I think youll find we dont live in a free world.

Dont know if you have ever heard of it but there is a little something called the LAW?

Emailing watchdog if you're concerned will at least be a start. The more who do the more chance they'll look into it.

Just because you're not going to use it doesn't mean you shouldn't be concerned.

Looking into it sounds reasonable. Using MSE to start a revolt because a potential housebuyer didn't get an exclusive on the house he wanted, doesn't sound reasonable. Maybe the house will go for more money, helping the vendor and his lender. Maybe the LAW will need to get involved, maybe it won't.

The OP's other discussion has the title Forcing vendors to accept offer on repo? which does not sound reasonable or disinterested, or even very LAWful.

Not showing terms and conditions is pretty shonky.

There's enough people that don't read them anyway - but not to have them clearly and freely available is wrong.
