It's simple payback for britain trying to control the rest of the world in the past. We have made english the most spoken and taught language in the world and now we have to take responsibility.

The only reason most economic migrants try to get to the UK is because they can speak the language - if I was fleeing from my country I would try to do the same.

Not me, I wasn't even born then. Countries should take responsibility through fairtrade e.t.c.

There are many reasons migrants come to this country, to consider it only due to the language is naive.

Still, as they have time to make meaningless projections which are unlikely to be accurate perhaps they could also project what would happen to this country if all the ILLEGAL immigrants left. Impact on tax revenues, the NHS, etc.

Let's have those projections!

Fortunately the savvy illegal immigrants manage to get round the prohibition against working. I think it is still possible to set up a 100 pound company and that does the work. OK the directors are acting illegally, but it probably takes 18 months for the system to realise what is happenning and try to get the law and tax collectors involved. By that time the directors have changed their names and can do it again..

I expect there would be a few more cockles in Morecambe Bay, a few less "squeegy" merchants at the traffic lights, the little man who wanders round my local trading estate selling knock off DVD's and the price of a bunch of daffs in Aldi might go from 0.89 to a whole quid.
Though perhaps not now that the Brits are having to do some of the poorly paid jobs:

hopefully British people will start to fill these vacancies and get an improved work ethic.

The threads of our society are quickluy unravelling because of immigration.

Soon we will be the strangers in our own strange land...
