welcome car finance

I got a job in social care and needed a car to do the job in my ignorance I went to Welcome Car Finance, I had never purchased a car from a garage before so did not know what I was doing and they had me there for 4 hours.
I applied for the cancellation of my PPI with Welcome [after reading info on this site and not knowing what PPI was] as I did not ask for it and I believed it had been missold they wrote back and said that they had not missold it and would not cance,. I lodged a complaint with the FOS who contacted me and said they would be dealing with my case but to be prepared when they had applied for other people they had to uphold Welcomes claim. When I was going through my agreement with the man from the FOS he noted that I had GAP insure and breakdown/mechanical cover which was for 2 years but that the interest charged for this was for 4 years and they also charged me £100-00 admin and acceptance fee which was also added on and charged interest on over 4 years.
My question is will the FOS deal with these matters as well or will they just deal with the PPI.
Looking at the agreement I cannot believe how much I will have ended up paying for a car that has continually had problems with but was never covered on the mechanical cover.

    Hi there

To my knowledge hun I think they will just deal with the PPI side of it, but check with them first just in case.
Perhaps you have some separate complaints to deal with here otherwise, think it may be worth mentioning this in order for you to get on with the other matters now.;)

    Good luck. x

Hi, definately mention them, I have queried them on my form to the FOS. You've got nothing to lose.

Can I ask how long it's taken to this point since you first sent your case to FOS?

Gorilla, if you can prove that interest has been charged on the Acceptance Fee, then it renders the Agreement unenforceable. This is because it is a fee and therefore, no profit should be made from it.

I have sent a complaint to Welcome about this and I know many others have as well.
