    Of course they're friendly, they are taking £110 off you - and might I add your grand-daughter may suddenly find she is stopped more by the Police, some of whom may even tell her in that their opinion the glow is distracting to other road users and hence illegal.

    You also need to disclose them to your insurer as they are a modification, for which you can bet your behind they will use as a reason not to pay out if a collision occurs.

    Hope you don't think I being a killjoy, just realistic :lipsrseal

    Spot on. There are strict rules on what lights and colours can be on a car and were. As for insurance, they may suddenly consider her not to be a good risk and bump up her premium and if you dont tell them you may find she is not insured because you have failed to advise them on a modification to the car. Even things like none standard wheels, exhaust tail pipes etc have to be advised of, they then decide if and how much extra they will charge.
