I Must Be Doing Something Wrong!

Have worked out that if I stay strict until next payday I should have £250 left in my account! :j
I was gonna pay my Egg card off which is about £190 BUT car tax is due next month  and will be about £160 so will probably just pay an extra £50 off the Egg card and leave the rest for the car tax!
It's kind of scary though coz for the last 3-4 months I've only been used to being about £20 in credit!

Well done!

Don't think I've EVER been in credit which is sad, but now I'm sorting things out, I can't wait until I can say the same!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Doesn't that mean you're doing something RIGHT?
And just think - if you keep sticking to it then the month after that £250 will be able to go to your card. And your car tax will be paid for the year! :j
:T Good job SS - it's nice to know the hard work pays off, isn't it?
I have £50 to last me to next Wednesday. Hopefully should be a cheap few days, since my darling baby girl has chicken pox so we're almost housebound (don't want to give it to everyone!) I'm getting bored of living so close to broke, but not for much longer! Looking forward to rejigging budgets on April 1st!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -

You will get there! I was exactly the same before my lightbulb moment in September! I had always been overdrawn for years but from October onwards I haven't been overdrawn once! (well for a few days around Xmas

Hi SS
Just a thought on your budgeting. Did you know you can buy £5 car tax stamps at the post office thus enabling you to get rid of that once a year expense.
Hope this helps in someway

I had absolutely no idea! Might start doing £10 a month! :j
Thanks for that Crystal! :kisses3:0 -
I don't think car tax stamps exist at the post office anymore do they?
Nope! See how to pay here:

Hi SS
No problem hun. Just one more thing dont forget to ask them for the collecting card to stick them in when you start getting them. One card holds £150 in stamps if memory serves me correct. After all you dont want to have them stamps floating around your person do you. They may get stuck in the wrong places Hmmmmmm enough said :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Edit Sorry I didnt realise they stopped selling them but do believe you can buy post office saving stamps at £5 a go and use them for car tax aswell as paying other bills at the post office. Still a solution I suppose...£2.00 savings club =£2.000 -

Road Tax stamps don't exist but Saving Stamps do that you can spend in the Post office!!!
I reckon your doing loads right.. Imagine.. normally you wouldn't have saved the money and you would of still had to have paid the road tax and been in the red even more!!
I look forward to the day that my current account that I pay my wages in to stays int he black! That is when I know I have reached my debt free status!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092
