V Festival - Weston Park - hotel?

My son and his mates have day tickets for Weston park, anyone idea where they can stay? All the hotel are booked, is it too late to booking camping somewhere? This his first time at a Festival and we are not sure what we are doing!

As far as I know there aren't many hotels in the vicinity of Weston Park as it's situated in a very small village. Cannock is a bit further afield - around 10 miles - but there are a few hotels there if there's nothing closer.

Has he day tickets for both days ?
if so why not get campimg tickets for the weekend ? there are still some on sale so that would have been your best option.

As has been said above, get tickets for the onsite camping as he will have access to all the facilities there.
I went to V at Weston Park 2 years ago and when it came time to drive home, I was quite envious of the people camping onsite. If your son was to stay in a nearby hotel, he would have a long walk ahead of him as it's almost impossible for taxis to reach the site with all the day ticket people leaving at the end of the night.

I am the GM of a hotel in Telford and we always get full for V-Festival (mostly from staff of the festival). Am I allowed to say which Hotel Group I work for - we have three hotels in Telford (the details are on my profile)?

A local minibus firm also runs shuttles to and from the site exclusively for festival-goers (http://www.shawstravel.com/v-festival-weston-park-transport-telford-shrewsbury.html).

I have checked availability for the weekend and it's tight across the whole area (people book so far in advance), but there are a few rooms available at one of our other two hotels if you call the Reservations Team.

Good luck! Let me know if I can be of further help and I hope he enjoys the festival (he'll need his wellies and a poncho - it always rains at V!)!
I am the General Manager of an hotel in Telford and am happy to offer advice. I can't promise to be perfect, but I'm happy to try to help.

Thare are plenty of hotels in Telford, but very few in Weston (it's out in the sticks). But see my previous note, which might help.

Personally I think Cannock is going the wrong way. I'm not saying that to drum-up business - I'm already full - just the advice of a local hotelier.

    Hope this helps!

My reason for mentioning Cannock was that affordable Telford hotels may be filling fast or already full...there are some I can think of in Cannock that are on the A5, so on a straight road from Weston Park and easy enough to find for someone who doesn't know the area.

    Fair point - well presented!!

Nice to see Steve Shaw getting a mention here. :D
I had the great pleasure to be ferried about by Shaws Travel one weekend last summer and Steve is a lovely bloke who deserves continued success. He really made us feel like we were getting a lift from a mate and nothing was too much trouble.

There are no hotels in Weston under Lizard (site of V Festival)

Shifnal has the Parkhouse Hotel which is pretty upmarket and i think 1 or 2 little B&B's.

Newport has a couple of hotels, a handfuls of B&B's and some pubs that do accomadation.

There are a couple of B&B's in Albrighton and i think a few dotted around surrounding villages like wheaton aston and brewood.

Telford has the widest choice of hotels, motels, pubs and B&B's. It is also probably the easiest to get to from Weston Park.

Cannock is quite a distance from the site and wouldn't be my choice of place to stay.

My choice though would be my old bedroom at mum and dads in St Georges!
