I wish that I could have insured our cat,we took her from the local Cat Protection branch because she was 10 and nobody wanted her,we wanted to insure her and were told she was too old, last year she was in the vets for 5 days various tests £789:eek: then needs tablets more the rest of her life the vet wanted £460 for 6 months supply we got them for £160 on the net so this wee cat cost us £1000 last year, and we are both retired.

The moral of the story is dont get a pet over 8 as it may cost a packet if it`s ill,or these Cat protection people should tell us.

But you CAN insure a Cat over 8, mine's 11 & was Insured in October for the first time with Axa & has a fixed, £50 excess + £7,000 per year for life cover. Pet Plan also Insure for the first time Cats over 8, the good policies ALL do, they won't cover pre existing conditions but none do.

Some people need that course of action far more than dogs do.
If an animal isn't in pain what right has anyone to murder it?
