Grr Alliance and Bloomin' Leicester!!

Hi everyone,
I am claiming against Alliance and Leicester for their absolutely ridiculous charges (£5 per day! ) for what, in all honesty, was their mistake in the first place.
Anyway, I am a student at the moment with not much money to spare so I sent off the financial hardship forms. I then received a letter saying they had not received these and if they didn't hear from me they would assume I no longer wanted to claim. (this was inbetween me sending them so I assume there's an overlap)
I tried to call them today and was on hold for almost an hour! Eventually just hung up! But they are going to end up adding more charges so I wanted to speak to them to see if they received the letter.
What do you do in this situation? Do I just leave the charges to build up? I have absolutely skint myself putting money into the account but at £5 a day it is just too much (i.e. 30 days x 5 - £150!!)
Thanks

My original post said ^^^ 'I was on hold to them for almost an hour' - not willing to spend that amount of time again on the phone. They said they had received the forms but are on a backlog.

Not sure I'm following this thread but have A&L now changed their 50p per day overdrawn rate for direct account customers?
I thought that they would charge up to a max of £5 in any one month for using their overdraft facilities...has something changed or have I just got the wrong end of the stick on this thread??? Apologies to the OP - I just assumed that you thought it was £5 a day which it isn't, is it?'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' : Member number 632
