Any advice on whether its best to get your CC to zero before calling and requesting to close the account or get an extension, or call prior to applying for a new CC and sorting a BT and keeping the pot safe in savings and the bal on the CC?
anyone done both what works best ?
need to shift Cap1 and Virgin soon, so am currently planning on settling the CCs to zero before I call and request an extension/new BT offer.

I have done what you outlinned here several times and seems to work quite well recently getting A&L to extend their 9mths @0% to a additional 6mths.
I settled the account first .
You cannont rely no them providing you with a 0% extention so you should always have a back up plan.
Especially if you are stoozing.0 -
I paid off both M&S and Abbey, got 6m extention @ 0% on both, hope this helps?Don't waste your words I don't need,
Anything from you.
I don't care where you've been or,

thanks - both,
have just paid off Cap1, and am waiting for it to show online before I call to cancel/extend.
Virgin is next 0% ends 14 Apr, so need to apply for a healthy credit limit card soon, will pay Virgin off before requesting extension.
any ideas how often Equifax/Experian are updated, so my Cap 1 will show as settled prior to any new applications ?0 -
