in Credit cards
What a palava. Do companies not realise how important these files are? They update our records all day everyday and as I've found this year, they regularly get it wrong!!
Quick explanation:
I applied for a new credit card to balance transfer to, got told by CC company I would only be allowes a £2.5k limit. Stunned I attempted to enter into a conversation with the operative but he spoke poor English from his Indian call centre and we achieved nothing.
I ran like mad to Expeiran and checked online to find that Vodafone, my ex-mobile provider, had registered DEFAULT on my credit file! I ran to them like a madman and after 3 days have had it confirmed that the default is errornous and a mistake and should not be there, accordingly they are taking it off my file.
How disgusting is that? How dare they register such an event against my name with NO good cause whatsoever!?
Halifax CC did the same thing earlier last year. I set up a Direct Debit with them when my card was new only the idiot rep failed to activate the DD correctly therefore on month 1 I got a late payment letter and a late payment registered against me. I paid it immediately but disputed it because my belief was that the DD was all in place.
Halifax then did the same thing for 3 more months running, setting me up DD's and then failing to activate and use them - each time billing me £25 late payment and registering a missed payement. When I noticed I once again had to have a 3 hour long debate with morons in call centres, although eventually I had 3 x £25 refunded and the missed payments removed off my credit file.
I am now, as I type, sat on the phone to a polite but totally thick idiot in India about my latest CC balance transfer app. Vodafone have royally screwed up my application and now this @rse of a bank will not reconsider my application. BUT IT WASNT MY FAULT!!!! If Voda c*ck up and go round putting defaults on peoples accounts by mistake, how can it be fair that my CC app is scored against !!!!!! information?!?
Ah, progress, just had it agreed to rescore my CC app on Firday when the Experian correction should have taken effect.

It's my expreience that companies are far more incompetent than 15 years ago and now we have to struggle with call centres with foreigners manning them who cannot understand us nor we them, at times! As you say - progress!"Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0

You've got me going now, I applied for a Halifax card a couple of weeks ago and got refused, did the appeal still got refused. okay it happens, was told to check my CRA file, checked the two big one's all looked okay (to me that is)
I went in to the local Halifax Friday to pay a cheque in and was told ''Oh I see you dont have one of our credit cards'' says the female behind the counter(not for the want of trying I thought)
I told her what had happened and she says that can't be right it says on my screen that you are eligable, i'll call somewone now.
Next thing I go through the story AGAIN with a supervisor and yes declined again, But this time she shows me why, well what they had on their copy of my internal file, it was absolute C**P.
So after nearly an hour and a few phone calls I am called back in to be told ''We are delighted to offer you a card''
In my temper, after all the time wasted applying/appealing and getting other cards, from other providers I told them that if they cant keep files correctly how the hell are they going to manage my credit card account, so I politely declined their card, she was most miffed.....as if they were doing me a favour.
Okay I know I cut off my nose to spite my face but it did feel good.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0 -
vwman, well done
ha ha ha
