Help! Advice needed. Water pipe burst!

Hi, a water pipe running from the boiler to the shower has burst in my girlfriends apartment. Its on the 2nd floor and there seems to be damage to the apartments below. I'm after any advice on what to do. Apparently this has happened before in another apartment and they were liable for all damage caused. That doesn't sounds fair to me.

Thats not the case unless the owner has been negligent. You need to obviously need to stop the leak as soon as possible even if it includes turning off the water completely. Then you need to get it fixed but thats not the priority.

the repairs to the other properties have to be claimed on their own insurance and are nothing to do with your girlfriend.

We were flooded 4 times in 2 flats from the flat above and although I dont agree with the system, you have to claim on your own insurance.
