INVESTING FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

Hello
I'm looking to invest £50 per month for a newly born child to enter higher education at the age of 18.
I had thought about ITs with Foreign and Colonial, Witan or Alliance, or possibly a FTSE allshare tracker.
Does anybody have any suggestions regarding other suitable funds.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I am the last person to ask. However I do remeber Gordon Browns initiative regarding the Child Trust Fund. It may be a full load of pants at max spin. I will let you research it.
Congratulations J_B.
