Housing Options

Hi

Not sure if this post is the right place.

I'm new here so bare with me.
Heres the situation:
I have to move out of my rented accomodation as I cant afford it on my own (I was living with my brother, he is now moving out).
I have bad credit and owe about £12,000 which I am struggling to pay through paypal.
I earn £16,000 per annum.

I have phoned a couple of mortgage companies but they need a deposit and dont seem to offer me enough to buy anything in Portsmouth. Due to me not earning enough.

I'm not sure if the housing association can help.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Can you not find somebody to share with you and carry on renting?

I think that renting at least for now maybe your only option as with no deposit and bad credit and also the fact of the high house prices, there is little chance IMHO of you being able to find anywhere right now.
I would rent for now and work as hard as you can at paying back what you owe, that will at least give you a clean slate to wok with at some point.

Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!
  • Ditto what Vic says :j

It might be worth looking into a (rented) house share with a few others to really try and keep expenses down. I did it for a bit and it was good fun - a bit like being a student again. Other people I know who aren't exactly teenagers have done the same and they enjoyed it too (some still do). Where I live unless you're in a couple and/or earning very well there isn't any other option.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
