I didn't achieve the no-spend day today that I'd hoped for. OH's Aunt has just come out of hospital and his Mum was too poorly to come up to see her, so I thought I'd go over so she still had a visitor. I narrowly avoided having a petrol spend because my S&B-i-L came with me (and he drove!) but we stopped off for a potted gift (plants!) and I decided to get one too.

I may not make my pledged 2 days no-spend this week now (complicated week with MOT and Farmers Market making most days definite spenders) but am really glad I made it over to visit.

Well, I made it to and from my interview and back without spending anything!

The interview was really positive so fingers crossed on that score

And i will be off out for a drink and dinner meeting one of my BF's friends for the first time, but I am apparently not paying! So no spending!

Ive spent £20.04 on petrol & £2.50 on toll road fees, i dont normally use the toll road but I was coming home from a diff direction following a work meeting and it saves about 45mins on my journey home.

Im going to try for another no spend dau tomorrow

I need to visit Spendaholics Anonymous – gosh…two days in a row pennies have … sob…. whaaagh… evaporated somehow from my pocket – and parking was £1.00 today, no freebie place to be found – good grief.. .what’s the World coming to…

Wandered into the local Charity Shop and was immediately besieged by one of the two ladies I know well and who run the place…. “I’ve put aside some really, really nice, living room curtains for you…” “Hooray” says I… and we start haggling over the price…. £5.00.. was her opening gambit… I staggered backwards.. hardly believing what I had heard…is this woman for real… feeling faint and disorientated and clinking the 1p and 5p in my pocket I mumbled …”£3.00…” Her mate surrounded me and being bewildered and perplexed I was swiftly mugged of my only £5 note….

With a spring in my step, clutching my bargain, really fantastic new curtains I popped into the coffee bar to read the freebie papers…. oh hum….how wonderful…

I spent today (boooo) but not much (yay). I spent 90p on Self-Raising Flour and Baking Powder in Somerfield. This is as I found that Delias wholemeal cheese scones did not work as well with my improvised recipe of 100% wholemeal flour and no baking powder. Although like a true moneysaver I ate them for lunch today and yesterday - and they certainly filled me up, like a brick in the stomach!

I know I could have got cheaper than Somerfield but its my local and I decided the temptation and time was too much to stop at Asda, I was in and out in a flash although I had to steer myself toward the checkout to stop myself looking for other things I didn't realise I needed!

No spend tomorrow!

• 55p on mini eggs (for me - can't resist them!!!!!)
• £1.99 on birthday card for DH

Today, I've therefore spent £70.46!!!!!

Have just started a spending diary this week, as we're not managing to stick to our budget - I am amazed already how much I spend eating out (snacks/drinks etc..) this has got to stop!!!!!!:eek:

Could have lived without both I guess and it makes me depressed that I feel guilty. Time to introduce myself I guess - have been lurking for a while and the bank calling last night to tell me off (at 8.15 pm - ?!) for being over my overdraft limit prompted me to sign up properly

Ah i spent £8 today on lunch and 2 drinks (only coke though!) so totally unrequired and irrelevant stuff (as is most of the stuff i buy) but friend cancelled our holiday yesterday so the £270 i had saved for it has wound its way back into the spending pot (going shopping with me mum on friday, will try and persuade her i need her to buy me things but don't think that'll work!)
