in 2005 bought a car on finance and in was paid off in full last year on the contract i have the representative from welcome hasn't filled in the ppi. but he told me i needed it for the loan as i have poor credit. he hasn't signed the agreement????0 -
Sorry was meant to post this on my above post.
I would contact the Information Commissioners office here:
https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
Tell them exactly what you have posted.
I take it you enclosed £1 postal order or cheque payment to cover the cost of the agreement ?
They should hold details of your account going back as far as 6 years.
However for more information on your account you can request a Subject Access Request (SAR) where there is a letter template on this thread for this request, they must send everything they have on you again going back as far as 6 years.
They have 40 days to comply but there is a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment for this request, may come in handy though and send to their data dept for this information.
I would write a separate complaint about the charge and would not pay this, but if taken out of your account this needs to go further, afterall they need to know its not Your fault they lost Your information, they have done wrong by this. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

£25??? Their charge for a letter is meant to be £10! I think they just make it up as they go along.
As Di said, the best thing would be to SAR them, that way you'll get all the information on your account.0 -
If they cant find your details, how can they find the account to charge the £25 to??????I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -

They taking the mickey how dare they.:mad:0 -
Thats rubbish they send all their docs to a secure holding unit, the branch would send a message to them requesting they find the docs.
If the letter was from the branch and not a head office I would contact head office direct

If they have no copy of your contract how can they prove you even signed for the loan ?????0 -
Also £25 charge for what ???? £10 is their letter charge. I would request a breakdown of what that charge is.0
