TRS - in context of Auction - What is it?

Got to ask, because I can't find anything relevant on Google.

What does TRS stand for / mean, in the context of a property auction?

Please?

TIA

Have you got any more context? Where did you see this used?

I've got another: 'Team split.' Can't find anything on Google, apart from the obvious sports stories!

This is the agent's helpful line:TO BE SOLD BY PUBLIC AUCTION (THEREFORE NOT SUBJECT TO TEAM SPLIT)

I'm guessing team split has something to do with commission. Not very helpful though. I think people like to come up with their own words and phrases to be different (but in fact just look daft).

It's on a listing of properties to be sold by auction. Several times. They're all cheap, and they're all plots of land as far as I can see as opposed to houses / flats / pubs /shops etc

I even found it with a search here but it didn't leave me any the wiser!

This morning I think I worked it out, and my DH agreed with me, that it's probably also (used to be?) known as 'set aside', ie agricultural land not in use for agriculture.

Don't worry, we're not thinking of buying any, but we don't like not knowing things.

I had a Google, and all these properties appear to be small buildings that are former BT properties. So I strongly suspect that it stands for "Telecommunications Relay Station" or possibly "Telephone Relay Station".

It means nothing in terms of an auction as such but....

TRS means Telephone Repeater Station - was it an old BT building - they are similar to a telephone exchange - they used to have these in the days before fibre optic cables - something to do with copper cabling and need to repeat the signal about every 200 miles - there were hundreds of them. They are probably redundant now.

TRS = Telephone Repeater Station. A building, similar in style to a telephone exchange but smaller. They were used to compensate for the inadequacies of 1920's and 30's equipment over long distances, by repeating the signal every 200 miles.

They are no longer needed due to new technology and so are being sold off. They are typically small plots of land with a little hut on them. I can see from planning decisions that some people are using the little huts as car ports/offices but the land usually wouldn't be big enough to build on even if they'd let you!

Right, thank you, I suspect it's that.

The other thing I thought of this morning was Transitional Relief Scheme, which I think might be the agricultural thing, but the phone thing does sound very plausible.

Anyway, it's just to satisfy our curiousity. I knew MSE wouldn't let me down!
