Perceived unfair scoring on redundancy matrix

Hi
I've posted before and have now had my consultation as an "at risk" employee. Was told that a lot of us were around the same mark, but my score was a little lower. Was then told at the end of the (very brief) meeting that I would definitely be made redundant ...
I didnt ask to see the score at the meeting but asked for a copy at the end. Now having had a chance to look at it it bears no resemblance to my appraisal or my frequent evaluations. I know that employers know who they want to leave and make them *fit* the criteria. Whilst I dont now want to stay as I now have no confidence in them as an employer out of principle I also dont want to seem to accept their scoring by not challenging it. I had already decided, again out of principle, not to sign a compromise agreement as the enhancement is only slightly better than statutory. They obviously want me to go so would there be any mileage in me stating I think its unfair (and having assessments to back this up) and perhaps arguing for a better package?

Simply Yes.
If you believe the evaluation to be unfair then challenge it. You won't change their mind, but if you can prove their assessment to be unfair then you ay stand a chance. What you can't prove is the appraisals or the evaluations of your colleagues - Yours might be good - theirs might be better.0 -
Thanks Kiddy guy. I think I will challenge then, as you say, wont change their mind, but may be a bit of leverage for me ...0

I suppose let's say you and Employee X were scored on their criteria - X can do 6 jobs, you can do 5. He may have better appraisals than you.
On that basis they'll turn around and justify it and you'll struggle to disagree. If however you feel that this criteria does not match you appraisals, you'll have to explain why you feel it is unfair. Again - let's say you are a road sweeper. You might be the best road sweeper around, but if it comes down to you and the Manager getting the sack, you'll go, even if his appraisal is not so good as yours. Bad analogy I know, but you need to further consult to establish the details.0
