Many thanks Wolfman for posting the settings before me even asking. I have changed the settings as you've suggested but only on the laptop when it started working fine (i.e both computers talking to each other). I have therefore left the default settings on the desktop's Kerio...Do I need to change them if all is working fine?
Thanks to everyone who'd helped with this ENORMOUS task.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
If it's working then Kerio probably handled it, should be fine as is. Glad to hear it's all working"Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0

MercilessKiller wrote:One other thing... to test whether both pc's can talk to each other do the following:
On machine 1:
Start > run > cmd
type in: ipconfig
Record the first ip address (should be like 192.168.0.2)
On Machine 2:
start > run > cmd
type in: ping ipaddressofmachineone
i.e
ping 192.168.0.2
If they can talk you'll get a reply saying the destination responded in <1ms or something similar in a long line of text
If it can't, you'll see something like "destination host unreachable" or "Request timed out"
Hi, am also trying to set up printer/file sharing.
After using wizard etc, am still unable to get the printer to work from my Laptop (wireless) The printer is connected to desktop PC (pc is also wireless).
I have 'pinged' from my laptop to the PC & received reply, but, when I try and ping from the PC to the laptop, the answe is timed out. Any further help would be appreciated. Thanks0 -
Sorry, after more reading above, my Laptop has Zone Alarm (free version) Is this the problem?0

Can the PC ping the router? The router's IP address is shown as the default gateway in ipconfig/all.0 -

Can the PC ping the router? The router's IP address is shown as the default gateway in ipconfig/all.
I've turned off both firewalls, when I ping from the laptop to the PC, it's fine, but again, when I try & ping the laptop from the PC, I get 3 timed out requests, and then it says, packets sent = 4, received = 0, lost = 4
When I ping the router from the PC, it says timed out followed by,
packets sent = 4, received = 0, lost = 4
Any other advice?0
