Car Insurance Premium...too high?

Hi guys & gals,
I've recently renewed my car insurance, and was wondering why my premiums are as high as they are. I did searches with comparison websites and yet still my current provider (Directline) is the cheapest.
In short:
I am 27,
in my 3rd year driving
no claims
my car is only a peugeot 1.1
my current premium is just short of £500
Is this about normal, cos it seems a bit high to me? Perhaps its cos i've only been driving for such a short amount of time?

you havnt been driving long and have no NCD to show any record of 'safe' driving
i would say its about right0 -
Looks about right, it should reduce next year if you don't have any claims.
Adding your partner as a driver can sometimes reduce the premium0
