Please can someone offer me some advice on my situation
Me and my ex bought a house 2 years ago but have since split up. The arrangement we came up with was as follows.
I get 6k for what I put into the property and they take on the mortgage and keep the house. I received the first five instalments by October of last year the plan been that I would get the last one when the mortgage was swapped over with a dead line of no later than November. The house now has negative equity and they are struggling to get a new mortgage. They have however moved a lodger in to pay half the mortgage/bills.
None of this is in writing anywhere. But now i feel stuck! I cant get my own mortgage and move on as i already have half of one nor have i got the full 6 k. Would I be in rights to charge rent whilst im waiting?
