Worth buying an ex shared ownership flat ?

Hi Everyone,
A one bedroom flat has come up for sale at an extremely good price within a development of shared ownership flats.
They'll be selling this particular as normal (not on a shard ownership scheme), as it was repossessed from the previous tenants (who had it on the shard ownership scheme).
I'd really like to snap it up, but I'm a bit worried about it being in a sharded ownership development, and could do with some advice as to whether its worth it, or if there is anything which could affect it, etc.
Thanks

Bit of a seperate question really, but I thought Id add it to this thread.
If in 6 months I decided to rent out the property, would I be able to switch to a buy to let mortgage? As I'm a first time buyer I wasn't too sure.0
