Hi everyone,
Has anyone done this? There is obviously people on ebay, etc and i came across this company - The Platinum Ring Company - http://www.platinumringcompany.com/store/
They are so so much cheaper than we have been quoted and it would be great to here from people who have purchased online.
Thanks

I've heard good things about Blue Nile http://www.bluenile.co.uk/wedding-rings/ - I haven't usede them yet, I'm in the market for an engagement ring, and doing the research! But the banks are made of marble,
With a guard at every door,
And the vaults are stuffed with silver,
That the farmer sweated for.0 -
Hello there. We were also amazed at how much cheaper they are online, especially for plain bands which is what we wanted. After much deliberation we bought our platinum rings from www.weddingrings-direct.co.uk (mine - 2.5mm light D shape for £215) and www.thebeautifulcompany (my H2B's - 6mm heavy D shape for ooh i think it was about £430). So total about £650, compared to high street i think we would have been looking at closer to £1000.
We will be waiting another 2 weeks for them to be delivered so in all honesty i couldn't comment on that yet. BUT we had silver samples delivered from wedding rings direct, 10 for around £20 (inc delivery to and from them, well worth it) which helped us make our final decisions re shape and size. They were very helpful with that, as for the beautiful company I had also had cause to call them with a question and again very helpful.0 -
Hi all,
I've been scouring the net too, and came across this company (think they've been mentioned on this forum before somewhere too?)
If you register for trade prices there are HUGE discounts!!!! For example - a medium weight 3mm court platinum band (weighs 5.2 gms) £175.67!
They also tell me (have spoken to them and theyre very helpful), that Palladium rings are meant to be hallmarked from April this year too!
I'm definately going to get our rings from there - my HTB wants 18ct gold and I'm going for palladium.

These are a bargain, I've just bought the 3mm one and am very pleased with it.0

We used the beautiful company as well, we ended up getting palladium bands instead of platinum as they work very well against a platinum engagement ring, last as long and look very very similar, infact everyone thinks i have a platinum wedding band.
The metal is very similar and pretty much as tough as platinum, yet costs quite a lot less. I hope this helps as weddings can be so expensive.
Good luck and congratulationsLeopardlady
Got married on the 26th April 08!!!!!!!:j:T

We got our wedding rings from Ace Jewellers in York, they operate from home and on the internet (they has an e-bay site as well as their own site) I got a 2mm platinum ring for £142.50. My fiance got a 3mm palladium ring for £87.00. I can honestly say they were brilliant and we're so chuffed with the rings. x0

Hi All
We got my engagement ring and both of our wedding rings online and saved a huge amount over the high street and also got better quality diamonds. I also managed to negotiate further discounts on the wedding rings on the discounted price! My wedding ring is an eternity ring with 0.79 baguette diamonds, F colour, VS clarity on platinum which cost £1000 and in the shops it would be at least double. (I know that for a wedding you are supposed to have a plain band and you get an eternity ring later but I just wanted an eternity ring, Im not fussed about following what you are supposed to do 100%). H2B's ring was a total bargain, I managed to get them down to £780 for a thick platinum shiny band with 8 tiny 0.03 F colour diamonds set into it. That in the shops would be at least £2k again.
My engagement ring (with investment grade diamond) was from diamond geezer, wedding rings were from diamondsanddiamonds.co.uk and purelydiamonds.co.uk - have also heard good things about blue nile.
I have looked at high street shops and their online versions and the diamond quality is crap - imperfect and yellow. Definitely better value for money online.0 -
I used the platinumringcompany.com for my 3mm lightweight D shaped wedding ring at £275, when I checked the hallmark they've sent me a palladium ring. I'm just waiting to hear back from them to rectify the situation (their palladium rings are £150!).0
