Removing floor tiles AND adhesive

Hi. Can anyone give advice.
Our kitchen has a border of tiles round the base of the units on 2 sides and vinyl on the rest of the floor. These old tiles are damaged in places and I would like to have them removed and the whole floor laid in vinyl. I'm told the damage is due to the tiles being laid directly on the wooden floor boards.
Question is, who do I contact to remove the tiles ie a tiler or a builder? I understand the problem is not so much removing the tiles as removing the adhesive so that it doesn't damage the new vinyl.
Total area of tiles is around 4 sq m. As a rough guide, what kind of price would I be looking at for having this removal work done? I know this could be a DIY job, but not in our case - OH is recovering from a heart attack and as an OAP, I'm not up to crawling round the floor with a hammer and chisel.

Whoever you get to lay new vinyl should be able to remove and make good0

assuming a days work, it should cost about 100 quid.
depends where you live?Get some gorm.0 -
Contact your local carpet shop, and ask for the floor to be levelled and prepared.
they will basically screed over the whole floor, giving a nice smooth surface for your vinyl!Profit=sanity
