Redundancy and Loan Protection

Hi people
Bear with me, if I have done this all wrong! This is my first time on here
My b/friend has just been made redundant, he has an outstanding loan, but took out the Loan Protection (as he was told when taking it out that he couldnt have the loan without it). He is now trying to claim on the Loan Protection to cover his loan payments but is being given the runaround and being made to feel like a criminal! Firstly the bank told him that he had to send them copies of jobs that he was "activily" seeking, then it was suggested that perhaps he should pay off the loan with his small amount of redundancy to which he replied "I thought that was what the Loan Protection was for?" Then he was told the bank couldnt even find the loan in their system! Althought the next day he was sent a form for his ex employers and the job seekers to fill in, ex employers were fine, job seekers tell him they need to see a copy of his policy (which he cannot find) he phoned bank again and they said they will send a copy out, but when he does not know! so in the meantime he cannot put the claim in for the Loan Protection! I was told that the bank had to send that policy through within a certain time and also that the loan protection wouldnt be paid for the first three months. Can you tell me if that is true?
Thank everythone for taking the time to read this!

it depends on the t & c of the policy we have one that wont pay out untill after 60 days .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
