I think for you it would be a good idea to keep a spending diary, i know it may sound a little silly for a 21 year old to do but i'm a 24 yr old with over £20k debt now so best to start now! lol
Anyway write down everything you spend in a little notepad or there is an online one you can use http://www.spendingdiary.com/
I tend to split mine into catagories like, food, debts, entertainment, gifts, bills, household etc
I think the fact there is a lot of money there you don't know what it's going on then this wouldbe a good idea.
