I'm intrigued by this and hope you update us. I'm a little surprised they say the terms cover HDD but I know the value of nand flash products (like memory cards you put in a camera and pen drives) goes up and down like a yo-yo depending on the trading price of its components.

I think the fundamental issue would seem to be that OP cancelled the order (or at least requested the order be changed) within days of the order being placed let alone within 7 days of the goods being recieved. Case closed as far as I would see it.

The restocking charge may be valid if the exception for financial market fluctuations is proven but even so they shouldn't have sent it out if the goods hadn't been sent before 14/2. Some companies just can't cancel or change orders once in process because everything is so automated but in that situation the decent thing would be take it back for full refund and pay for the cost of returning it too.

If your ticket explicitly stated you wanted the order cancelled if they couldn't change it and the order had not been despatched before 14th then they haven't a leg to stand on.

Currently in talks with trading standards about this company. They have received a visit and their terms and conditions have changed. Awaiting more info.
