First Trip to the USA. . .Help Required

Hiya,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a really good guide for flying out/travelling to the USA?

It will be my first time abroad, so I'm mildly clueless on the whole airport/customs/packing/rules and regs thing.

Theres plenty info kicking around these boards for US travel you just need to do a wee search, some pinned threads are at the top for Florida, Las Vegas and NYC. Where are you planning to go?

Not 100% yet (don't ask! LOL), it could be one of three areas currently, all towards the western side.

It's really the technical elements I'm after rather than place specific.

Can we assume that you have a passport and that you satisfy the requirements of the Visa Waiver Scheme and won't need to apply for a Visa?
