Hi y ai bought some salad potatoes today and im in two minds whether to plant them out for summer? How do i get them ready to be planted? Asumming that you can grow salad potatoes like this? ie dont think they spurt like normal potatoes.
Normal baking potatoes i read somewhere on here you can grow them by the peelings? would this be worth trying on veggy patch as i dotn want to waste space and they dont grow

You mean they are for eating - out of the supermarket/whatever?
It's very controversial - many people think that you musn't ever plant shop bought spuds in the ground - i don't
You can leave them in a cool bright place until they produce some short sprouts and plant them in the ground late March early April - and they will grow!
( they may have been spryed with a chemical to reduce sprouting, you could wash them a bit to get it off)Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
