Data counter for mobile broadband usage

Hi there, does anyone know of an easy to use, basic and free data counter so I can make sure I dont go over my 3GB usage?

It's usually supplied with the dongle software. What service are you on?

Its with Orange and is built in the laptop so is just a sim card i put in rather than the dongle

Then not sure how you monitor it, maybe someone else with this system can help?

I personally use netmeter ,

Its a very useful tool and surprisingly accurate too , there are 2 versions though , 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 beta (test version) .

There are still some minor defects so personally i would download 1.1.3 first and test to see if it works , if not ......... use 1.1.4

Some firewall programs can give you details of traffic in/out counters. Might be worth having a look at your version assuming you have a firewall of some type.

Hi CLLC after clicking download it gives me two options:
Softpedia mirror (US) beta
Softmedia mirror (RO)

which one should i click on?

sorry it just doesnt mean anything to me either one.

Hi,

I have the 3 dongle, which is really just a holder for the

sim card, it gives me the option to check usage,



click on My Account, should then show your number in box,

click, copy, then click Open MY3, your's might have

something similar.

For the NetMeter, I would download the RO, the other

seems to be the Beta. I've Used NetMeter before, quite

handy, gives you daily, weekly monthly, data.

hi, thanks for that, yeah my account brings up connection, texts,phonebook and statistics tabs so wondering if I could get away with using the statistics tabs. It tells me what as uploaded and downloaded. will have another look at it.
If not will try the Netmeter

PLEASE HELP I FOUND YOUR TEXT ABOVE AND HAVE TRIED NETMETER, I DOWNLOADED IT OK AND SET IT TO TE SETTINGS I WANTED, BUT EVERYTIME I LOGGED INTO MY PC, IT SAID THERE WAS NOTHING TO RECORD? i ASSUMED THIS WAS BECAUSE I HAVE TO TELL MY PC TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET (AS i HAVE A ORANGE DONGLE) SO I THOUGHT THIS WAS REASON WHY IT ALWAYS SAID NOTHING TO RECORD, HOWEVER AFTER ABOUT ONE WK OF USING IT ITS STIL SAYING I HAVE NOT USED ANY DOWNLOADS OR UPLOADS, WHICH CANNOT BE CORRECT....?? ANY IDEAS PLSE??
