parking ticket - they have gone very quiet!

hi,
i received a parking ticket a few weeks back in the snow and ice. I had purchased a ticket (at local train station) but it fell from dashboard
anyway, sent off letter, with PCN and ticket and receipt to the council, on 15thFeb, lodging appeal. (ticket from 10th feb)
its now 10th March...nothing
I am worried this means that the £50 which would have been halved to £25 will instead be doubled....
any views? anything I can do?
(council phone number is automated line!)

That doesn't make sense?? that would make it £100!indebtbigtime wrote: »hi,

It depends on what their particular policy is - and may be indicated on the back of PCN.
Was there a thread on the case originally? Which Council is this?
- and in answer to the question - as long as they feel like and if at all.

hi
blaby council
i meant that the £50 reducing to £25, will instead be doubled to £100 if not paid within 28 days.....i.e now
As i appealked, I thought the worse that would happen is they would rejct and I would have option at paying £25 or pushing appeal further...
now im in limbo land...
ideas appreciated
thanks0 -
There is no point at which a £50 penalty doubles to £100-. You are misunderstanding something.indebtbigtime wrote: »hi

Blaby? Where is that? Not seen one. It would be very worthwhile to show ALL of the PCN.

Circumstances? Grounds for appeal?

ok - sorry, noted circumstances now.
Who exactly have you been trying to phone? Appeals processing is centralised at LCC.

yeah Blaby is in leicestershire.
I sent back to the address on the back of the PCN.....Stupidly, I have sent the PCN in the envelope with my appeals letter AND receipt (ticket)
My letter - which I took a copy of, stated
- THE ALLEGED CONTRAVENTION DID NOT OCCUR
Quite simply, the parking attendant got it wrong, I was not parked inappropriately at the time the ticket was issued. This is due to the fact that I puchased a full day ticket at 0732 on 10th Feb, and displayed this on the passenger side of the front windscreen
I enclose the parking ticket and also a copy of the credut card receipt for the purchase
When I arrived back to my car in the evening, snow and ice had fallen heavily, and I suspect that if the weather had been so bad earlier in the day the iced windows may have made itdifficult for the traffic warden to see the ticket.
I am a law abiding citizen.......and CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THIS FINE.....DMP - BLAH BLAH BLAH
Yours
