Im just about to take delivery of a new scirocco and it has 18" alloy wheels on low profile tyres so im thinking of maybee taking out alloy wheel insurance..

ive been offered it for 89 for 3 years upto 10 claims or £1000 whichever comes first.. does this seem like a good deal?

  • No just be carefull when parking. If worst comes the worst you can get a alloy refurbed for £40 easy.

Also if it only covers up to £1000 in total - a new 18" alloy from VW could well be £400 if not more so i cannot see you getting 10 claims off them.

im more worried about all the pot holes in the road since we had the snow storms etc. roads seem to have fallen to bits.

true but im thinking even 1 claim would make it worthwhile you think?

How does this sit with your main insurance?

IME, they usually charge an extra premimum for alloys to begin with.

In this case possibly, but definitely not in all cases, Before xmas due to me being stupid, I caused 15k worth of damage to my house. Thankfully I was covered for being stupid, and they made the house good again.
