Sky Customer Service-Aaaargh!

Options
Signed up with Sky last month for a £16.50 tv, £10 line rental & £10 broadband (live in the sticks so had to upgrade) a month package-total cost £36.50 a month. Had tv box installed on the 20th Feb with dates of 3rd, 4th or 5th March for my broadband/phone to be installed.
Received a bill from Sky shortly after tv installation stating that they would be charging me £47 a month for my tv alone-what?! When I questioned this price via email they informed me that I had 'upgraded' my package to Sky sports on installation date (I hate sports & most certainly didn't)! They also informed me that broadband/home tel were not part of my package.
I only signed up to Sky so I could have my broadband & home tel through them but they are not giving me what I want.
I have emailed their customer services countless times now with my complaints and not one person has had the decency to get back to me, all they have done is downgrade my tv package.
I have threatened to cancel countless times unless they give me what I signed up for & have said I will complain to Ofcom as I feel they are in breach of contract but still to no avail, anyone help/suggest anything?
Crazy I know but I still want Sky as long as they can give me what I want as the only other option is to get my tel line through BT who want to charge me £124 for the privilege whereas its free with Sky.

You'd still need to pay BT the £10 a month for the line, irrespective of calls being billed thru Sky.

Sky - call them up... I know it might take a while, but they do help, once you get through to them.

I had similar probs with sky, got my tv installed in jan within a couple of days of ordering, but the phone and broadband were a different matter!

I phoned many many times and kept getting different info (dates for installation etc)and had i not phoned I would have missed the date for openreach coming to fit the line as I got the letter informing me of the date, 2 days after!!!

I think the probs lie with the fact that the TV, Phone, and Internet depts all have seperate call centres (TV in uk and others abroad) and do not communicate! I finally got my phone line to then be informed that no broadband order was on my account - apparently because they cant actually process the order until you have the line active.

Saying that now it is all done I have had no problems at all! I complained about all the hassle and sky gave me free movies (pack 1 and 2) for 3 months.

Only advice I can give is keep hassling them, you will get there in the end! ;)
