need a bit of advice

hi all

my partner maybe loosing his job due to cutbacks,i have had a quik go at the entitled to calculater and it said we would get around 300 a week jsa and tax creds we have 5 children, now my questions is do they then take off my child benefit from that 300 i know they used to yrs ago think, its been so long since we were on the dole its all changed now, any help would be most apreaciated thnx xx

    no i dont think they would take your child benefit out of that money, when you do that calculation thingy it usually brings up how much child benefit you get so its seperate to child tax credits and jsa.

    Yes, that's correct; they do not take the child benefit into account.

    You will get the couple rate of JSA + child benefit + ctc.

    thnx for ur advice most appreciated,so am i right in thinking if we do end up on the dole we will get the £300 jsa/childtax cred then plus my £69 child benefit making it roughly give or take a few quid £369 per week plus any housing ben and council tax bens :confused: just want my figures correct just incase he does lose his job, i would ring them but i just hate ringing these places they confuse me a lot lol, xx

    The couple rate of JSA is £94.95 per week.

    CTC is roughly £42/3 per week, per child.

    So, yes, that seems about right. May be a little more than that, but it won't be any less.
