Haven't been for 20 years! Who flies there and from where (I need lgw, lhr or bmx)? How far in advance do you need to book shows? When is best to go when it is not too hot? Lots of ??????????????

Off the top of my head, If you want to fly non stop then Virgin is your only option(someone will correct me if i am wrong). Sometimes cheaper to get a return to LA and internal flight return to vegas.
Loads of options if you want a connecting flight (all the US carriers).
Weather...I have been in March April and May and always had good weather all be it very windy when we went in march. The May trip a few years ago it was 110 every day, and it can get much hotter than that in the summer months, and quite cold in the winter months especially at night.
I dont know much about shows, except the one night specials obviously get booked up quickly, but the long running shows are always available( i think), and if you wait till the day there are two or three discount ticket booths about on the strip.0 -
I would go in the spring or autumn. It gets REALLY hot in summer. Last time I went we used American Airlines. via St Louis with a 1 hour stop. BMI are starting a direct from Manchester on 26th March. That might be worth a look.Timmay!0

I would LOVE to answer this as I go to Las Vegas often since my husband has business commitments over there and I can get reasonable rates for people but I understand that a former member spent lots of time there and I'm accused of being that person so I'll keep quiet! :rolleyes:0

I agree with that. I've been in April , September and November and had good weather on each trip , just nice , not unbearably hot.
TCD do direct flights , but I wouldn't recommend them , went with them the last time and we had long delays on both legs of the trip
Same old same old since 20080 -

We go March/April and October, usually fly from Manchester with Delta via Atlanta, but this time we are going with US Airways via Philadelphia.
March can be warm and a bit windy, April is hotter
October is the nicest month for weather, should be still in the eighties,November was cooler, but the hours of sunlight were less and it got dark earlier.
We drive down to Laughlin, which is much nicer and friendlier than Vegas and about ten degrees warmer, also the average midweek price is about $24
(Vegas is fine for a few days just to see everything)
There is lots of live entertainment in the Laughlin casinos, although you don't get the big names of today in the shows, think Engelbert and you get some idea.

BMI have flown direct from Manchester for some time now, I went in January from Manchester. They fly on a Thursday, Sunday and from 26th march on a Tuesday. The only others that fly direct are Virgin. If you can go to Birmingham it is only an 1 hour and quarter extra up the M6 to Manchester and you won;t have to put up with any southerners!!!!!!!Up the Rams !!0

You want to try and avoid any conferences, because hotels get filled up and hotel prices go up."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

Oh please do answer. I was going to send you a pm for help as my brother in law and I are hoping to go to Las Vegas later this year but I saw on the upgrade flights thread that you don't do long haul flights. All advice would be appreciated.0
