  • If I received a cheque like this i know for a fact I would worry myself silly and lose sleep over it. I would also google to see if anything came up on this. It's so easy to be taken in as you just can't keep up with the new scams.

    It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted:)
    I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

    Thats why its a good thing OP did post this because if it does happen to somebody else and they do google it this exact thread will come up and it will give them possibly the answers they are looking for.

    If you know their name and area they live in then maybe try directory enquiries - hopefully only one or two people will come up with matching details?
