Doing the bathroom out

Hi all, just wondered if anyoune would have any advice.
I'm about to start doing out my bathrrom, and have bought a sink and vanity unit. I have decided to tile my floor as well. Currently, its bare floorboards in the bathroom. What order should I do things in? I've been told I should buy some hardboard for on top of the floorboards, to tile onto, but should i get the sink put in place and tile around it, or should I tile throughout the room then fit the unit and sink? Its a freestanding unit with small feet at the bottom, not flush to the foor.
Also, i'm hoping to have my high cistern toilet replaced with a low one. Is this a big job and how much roughly should i expect to pay?

the floor needs to be covered with hardboard 1/2 inch i think and screwed down then tiled then install sink/toilet etc for best results/finnish

My son is a tiler. You are better off using ply screwed down over your floorboards. Make sure you use flexible adhesive for your tiles. Agree with Gardner1, tile the floor completely then install your sanitary ware - nice neat finish and no cuts around your toilet, etc.

Seems a bit much, I rather use ply.
