If you have the necessary HDMI switching unit (and/or an AV amp) you could get this little beauty for exactly the same price:

I agree with all the above - doesn't sound a great deal to me. It's not even that cheap. I think you tend to get what you pay for with tv's and a bargain branded one is nearly always going to be the better buy.

If you buy a television from Richer sounds, they offer you a 5 year guarantee for 10% of the price of the TV so a TV costing £300 would cost just £30 for a 5 year guarantee. I don't work for them but my BIL has just bought from them and was suitably impressed with the staff and the deal he got. Alternatively, you could consider buying from John Lewis who always offer a 5 year guarantee with TV's and will price match (shop sales only - not internet sites) on the whole. Sally
  • i bought 26" lcd from aldi about 8 months ago. gotta say for the price it was good value and the 3 year warranty is reassuring , most brand name tv,s only have 1yr warranty and are just as likely to get sick. i would def buy from aldi again., you can always hand it back if you dont like it.

Just to put things right, I bought the Tevion 28" LCD nearly 5 years ago & the 32" Tevion LCD 4 years ago. Both have been excellent with great picture quality. I watch a lot of HD on the 32". Just over a year ago we decided to get a 40" Samsung. We saw the Samsung in the shop & it was as good or better than the others around it. Once home & comparing it to the Tevion it was poor & we sent the Samsung back.
Now we are looking for a new 32" TV & today looked at some with the LG, Sharp & Samsung being our favourites. (Panasonic was good but expensive). If I only could see the new Aldi LCD working I might buy it, but now they are more fussy about taking things back, I'm not so sure.
    Nice to save.
