Sheila's Wheels £600 Excess on Windows

Got a shock when ringing Sheila's wheels to claim for a damaged bathroom window.
They tell me that the excess for claims of this nature is £600 but nowhere either in my policy documents or on their website can I see this figure. How hidden can this figure actually be? Fair enough if it's there but has anyone queried this with them? It set so high that it's unlikely that anyone would ever claim on this part of the policy.
I certainly won't be getting 'down to' Sheila's Wheels after my policy expires!

What Voluntary Excess does it show on your schedule?0

Does it show any compulsory excess on your schedule as well?0

It doesn't give any figures on any of the paperwork which is a little bizarre. I work in a bank too so am used to looking at paperwork of this nature.0

You should be used to hidden charges then
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
I would be very surprised if you had an excess of £600, the policy says the glass breakage excess is the same as any other claim and that your excess is shown on your schedule.
Ring customers services up (Not claims) and ask what your policy excess is, I bet its much lower. Then assuming it is, you can just ring up claims and put the claim through. I assume the person you spoke to just did not know what they were doing which is not unusual now days
You never know though with these websites now days as they are set up to quote big excesses to make the premiums look cheap but the maximum they normally do is around £250 on quote default.0 -

Good idea. Looking on the Sheila's Wheel website it doesn't even seem to allow an excess of that size and the policy was only taken out in May.0 -
I think the person miss informed you, in these situations I just ring the customers services and ask what the total policy excess is, note the persons full name and then ring the claims department. I think you will find someone just messed up.0
