Crap legal person

To anyone who needs a solicitor when buying/selling a house DO NOT use the company we used, we went for a cheap conveyancing firm through the internet (quoted price £350 all in to sell our house) and it has been nothing but trouble. Get a personal recommendation from someone you know or pay a little bit extra to get a good service!

We have NEVER spoken to our actual solicitor, only their assistants
We have had THREE solicitors in 6 weeks
They arranged a completion date four days before the date we wanted to complete

Thanks for the warning but are you going to name the company?

They are called bott and co. should've seen it in the name.

lots of other things like not knowing what a building inemditiy insurance is and then quoting i should get one for some electrical work done.

so now we are effectively homeless for 2 nights.

Interestingly, they do not have any information on their website about being regulated by the Solicitor's Regulation Authority, something which I believe is now compulsory.

They don't appear to have anybody who is a Licensed Conveyancer via the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

However, they are regulated by the Law Society. Their page is here: http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/findasolicitor/view=lawfirmdetails.law?orgid=333831&searchType=L

I would make a complaint via the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

I think u need to make a complaint to them first and then go to the SRA if it isnt resolved otherwise the SRA will just refer you back to the Solicitors first.
