i dont know what to. after having my house up for sale for 18 months, it finally been repo'd last week, I had a secured loan of £17k on it too, i dread to think how much neg equity there is, i know of £15k for sure. Im now living back home with my mum. I have a car on HP which is due to be repo'd end of the month too.
i bought a cheap car for £400 and it needs new tyres and brakes, before i can even think about doing the 50 miles a day round trip to work.
Ive got unsecured credit and debit cards up to £15k, council tax arrears of £500. Ive got no money at all, my life is just work and nothing else, i dont smoke or drink, and have no money to buy an clothes (last time was about 10 months ago) or have any kind of social life.
I just dont see any point in carrying on, i have calls from creditors everyday, letters etc. I was in work today and i couldnt wait to get home so i could cry, which I am now, if i have another day off sick ill be sacked.
I cant think, my head is all over the place constantly, im not eating properly, not sleeping, feeling angry and upset,- i dont want an existance like this, it not a life, its a nightmare that i cant wake up from.
All debt charitys and CAB have told me to go BR, but I dont even have money to do that. i dont know who to talk to or what to do, i just want to kill myself or run away
I also wonder can my life after BR ever be rebuilt, will i be classed as some sort of criminal and never be able to have job dealing with money for instance, will ever get credit again

Hi there,
first of all, have you spoken to anyone about your emotional state? Yes, the CAB and CCCS are an invaluable source of practical advice but it looks like you're having trouble coping with it all on an emotional level.
It might be worth confiding in your doctor, as it looks like you are being badly affected emotionally. That is far more important than your financial health and needs sorting out before you can move on and deal with your money worries.
If you read round the forum you will see that indeed there is life after BR, and for many it's a better life so try and focus on the little pieces of positivity that people share on here. We're all in a very similar boat. But please do try and share your worries with someone if you are feeling close to the edge. It's a very difficult thing to cope with alone.
There are lots of people on here who will guide and support you, you just need to ask.Come ride with me, through the veins of history...
I'll show you how God falls asleep on the job.

Hi
There is light at end of tunnel you just need to see it
if all debt charities have told you to go BR
thats the best way to go. do you really want credit again?
do you have a friend who could maybe help you
fix your car?
if you living with your mum stop paying all debts apart from rent
and save your BR fees
someone with more knowledge will be along soon

Absolutely stop paying all non-essential bills immediately - make your BR fees a priority. Does your mum know whats happening? If so, can she help you in any way with your fees?:j Goodbye debt - Hello sanity! :j0

If you go BR (and it sounds like thats what you need to do - however, please post your SoA on here so the more experienced members can get a picture of your situation and help you out) then Welcome Finance can add as many charges on the account as they wish because you wont be paying them or any of your other debts because they wont be your debts anymore. And I wouldnt answer any more calls from them or any others chasing money. I switched my home phone off for 2 months and only answered calls on mobile if I knew who it was.
Once you get together a plan of action you will feel much better - it takes courage but you can do it - there is all the help you need from the lovely people on this forum - ask any questions.
You are not a criminal either - debt is a civil matter - not a criminal offence:)
Please keep posting on here - dont hide away - there a many people here who can help you through this.:j Goodbye debt - Hello sanity! :j0 -

Awwwwww WXMlad,
I know all the feelings your are going through. I decided that I wasnt going to let this get to me anymore and started to find out what I could do about it. I started off with an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) and not long after I bought into this realised that I had been sold this wrongly as I had no assets to protect.(ie expensive car and house).
Due to my health (stress) I went part time at work, which I was only able to do with a helpful boss and a wonderful husband. As a result of this we were unable to meet the payments on our IVA. We had to let it go. That was the lowest time as I was scared to go bankrupt.
Now however, after many months delving and asking people like the CAB and this site we are going bankrupt on 3rd April 2009 and to be honest I cant wait!! Keep asking questions on here, it has been my salvation.
Good luck you are amongst friends

hi
i think the worst part for me was thinking
everyone would know that i was br
to date noone appart from my SIL and my parents know
you are never alone on these boards
it is a great place for sounding out ideas
the only silly question is the one you dont ask
we are all human and we do make mistakes
but we do learn from them

Hi, Thats very good advice from jellygirl.
We all know on here how difficult debt is to deal with when you dont know your rights, and are scared by the tactics of debt collection agencies.
Just a few points, some have already been said;
STOP paying all your non priority creditors NOW.
Try to save as much as you can by doing this towards your fees.
put up your income / expenditure on here so we can help you.
STOP answering the phone, or use an answering machine or change your number.
Read and then totally ignore all the letters they send you. If you receive court forms then contact a debt charity or come on here straight away and we can help you make an offer you CAN afford, which could be as little as £1 per month.
The charges they say they are adding are a paper exercise, you will never pay them so you dont care.
People often worry about bailiffs, can they coe round and take all my stuff ? - NO ! Bailiffs absolutely will not call round until you have been taken to the court, had a judgement against you, and you have failed to do as the court said.
The court ( if you ever were took to court) have a duty to award an amount you can afford.
It is time to take control of your debt instead of it controlling you. You have no assets, and live with your parents- there is nothing of any real substance that they can do.
Please remember, send off a financial statement showing what you can afford ( perhaps £1 per month or offer nil for 6 months) then from that point forward never speak to your creditors or respond to their letters ever again.
Your far more important than a few debts, and yes there is definately a much brighter future ahead of you.
