He needs to suport his children, nobody would argue with that, but he does not need to overdo the support at the expense of his new partner and other children.
I think you need to have some stiff words with him!
Don't you receive child maintenance for your children?
In response,
I think to be honest that the kids are going to be coming living with us before too long, they are at the age where 'their wishes' will be taken into account and they really dont wanna be where they are at the moment, i thought it was a case of the grass is greener etc but after seeing them its not the case. In no way does their mother mis treat them but if we didnt buy them new uniforms etc they wouldnt get any - and i simply cant see them going to school in uniforms that dont fit and shoes that have seen better days! My oh tried to speak to her re the support he was paying - especilly in the light of the fact he doubled his mortgage payments to buy her out . He decided to stop paying the child care fees and told her he was doing and would give her 2 months then that was it - she just didnt pay the childcare fees. As both parents are responsible for payment they threatened to throw the kids out of the childcare facility if he didnt pay - so another rock and hard place.
Without sounding money grabbing we have done the sums, and if teh kids did come to live with us first and foremost they would be happier and seconary we would actually be better off by about £800 a month as he would no longer be paying maintenace and he would get maintenance of his ex!! We feed the kids 3 nights a week and all weekend anyway so bills wouldnt go up that much!
My kids Dad has never paid maintenance in the 8 years we have been split. The case was with the CSA for 7 years, i even got my local MP involved but everytime they catch up with him he chanhes jobs, although he owes something silly now like £15,000 i have only ever seen £34.00 once! He has signed the house over to his sister so he 'has no assets' The case is now closed as they said there is nothing they can do. I have re-submitted it and they are seriously looking at severe penalties for him - we will see eh?
now posting this on the DFW boards!
Goodness, you lot have had my lifestory in the past few days!!0 -
Sounds as though them living with you will help financially but it will be a lot more work for you while doing your course.
Maybe the child care fees should be his maintenance payment then? Or perhaps the fees and the uniforms if that is a problem. But pay nothing directly to the mother?
That has to be the easiest option, surely?0 -
Re Open University - try checking out Tesco points - you may be able to use them for OU courses but I don't know the details.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
