Cheap UPVC back door

Hi,

Would anyone be able to point me towards a cheap upvc door company, I live in the south west of scotland.

I'm basically looking for a white upvc back door, half panel (bottom) and glass in top half, as cheap as I can get nothing fancy.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would recommend not buying the cheapest. When we last looked at doors, the locks on the cheapest were appalling. We went up in price until we got a solid metal bar down the edge of the door and frame with cams and hooks which operated when locked.

Sorry, might not be the answer you wanted.
  • Got a quote from the UPVC door company end of last year and they said they could do a basic white back door (half panel / half glass) for about £400 fitted. Went back to them at weekend and they said the price is £520 fitted?

I feel over £500 for a back door is expensive, what does anybody else think?

    Cheers

    Hi,

I would suggest to search in Google to find local companies in scotland. Hope, you will find some leading companies and ask them for uPVC doors quote on their websites.

I would say £400 upwards is the going rate for a UPVC door inc fitting , as mentioned make sure its high security .

Hi There, When my partner and I where renovating our last house we bought a upvc door from our local B&Q, I think we paid about £120 for it and fitted it ouselves. It was a bit of a struggle but we got there in the end. It was a lovely item with glass in the top half with a red rose. Shop around if you can and try all your local major D.I.Y suppliers first they usually have some great offers.
