Internet shop gone bust....paid by credit card

Options
Dear Moneysavers
We ordered some nursery furniture online from a shop called "bebe-amor" 2 weeks ago. They deducted payment straight away, from my credit card, and we were led to believe delivery would be within 14 days.

I then had a call from the furniture manufacturer - saying the internet shop had gone into liquidation. They have our furniture....but have not been paid by bebe-amor...so no furniture for us, and a >£600 bill. (the manufacturer has offered to sell it to us directly, but for the same price, helpful but a bit tight we thought).

Lloyds have frozen the payment, and the "disputes" department are supposed to be getting in touch.

Anyone had a similar experience - does this sort of thing end happily?

Write to your bank and tell them under the Consumer Credit act they are responsible for refunding you the money.

I think you may have problems here, read this:

It would appear that the card issuer has no liabilities under Sect 75. Google appear to "offer" some protection - but this is NOT covered by legislation - only by how generous Google are feeling !
