Obviously the increase in FIT is known, the increase in electricity price is not certain but it seems likely to exceed the RPI but I guess the unknowns are whether the panel performance degrades over time and what level of maintenance will be needed for the installation - after all if the inverter 'goes' I assume it will be expensive?

Yes Dave I think they should be tested if they are selling ill stock - I have had problems with buying in too. I think I will not buy at the auction again.

Rhiwfield good for you keeping tabs. I spent a few hours at a wind crofting talk yesterday & my head is spinning - loads of companies offering deals - very sceptical at the mo.

You'll note I mentioned current yield.

In future panel performance is expected to degrade by 1% pa, and the inverters are the piece of kit most likely to go wrong as we found out with Soladin recalls-replaced under warranty), but I'd also advise people to use top spec roof fittings to avoid replacement of those down the line.

Equipment cost is coming down but I'd guess replacement of all 5 of my inverters would take up a couple of years income at todays prices, almost certainly a lot less when out of warranty, and smarter inverters coming in are likely to improve shading related performance.

In any event the pv investment is just one of a raft of measures we've adopted to mitigate risk exposures, measures that leave us feeling much more comfortable about the financial future despite all the pressures we currently face

    Hello!

I have been working like crazy today to get back on top of things in the garden and I feel like I am finally getting somewhere! Now I am going to relax with something chilled and a good book while admiring all the work I have done!

:rotfl:hi all, as has been said...go off radar for a few days and all hell lets loose.....:rotfl:

iv not been feeling great and have just gone through the motions it seems each day !!:o

just need ONE day of feeling ok... but hey ho theres a lot worse off than me.

the weather has been great and iv been taking the dogs for lots of swims...very relaxing watching them do all the hard work !!:)

DAVESNAVE...if memory serves me right under the sale of goods act, the onus is on the seller to prove YOU "damaged" goods not visa versa. so she cant just say you created the problem, she has to back that up... i would definately get defra involved. what starts off small can become a disaster ,not just for you but for all purchasers of her poultry. think how you will feel if it is an airbourne disease and affects others in the vicinity!! THE SELLER should hang her head in shame to sweep this under the carpet and to be honest deserves to be stopped from breeding/selling. the best welfare of livestock does not excuse deliberate ignorance of such health threats...

oooooooo that feels so much better having a rant...:rotfl: and i dont know the person....:D

LIR... i think ud look fab in your flowing garb with wellies, nails ,lippy etc...:)

CHOILLE...soooo glad your house is coming on

CTC....can i hide in your travel bag and pop out on arrival at bulldog bash????? i would sooooooo love to let loose too !!;)

    anyone else iv forgotten....well done

Alfie, did you get the test for Lyme? I'm worried if you're not feeling too good as you say. Lyme is often not very obvious. Do you have a rash? Classic is "bulls eye" rash which is diagnostic, but not everyone gets that. Don't put off getting it done - Lyme is mostly easily dealt with by antibiotics if caught early. If not dealt with you can end up with a ME/CFS type illness like I have (though mine not down to Lyme) and I really wouldn't wish that on anyone (apart from our glorious leaders who are kicking the disabled in the teeth). And there's arthritis too can be caused by Lyme.

Please take care all of you who may be exposed to ticks.

Agree about the Lymes - scares me as we are often bitten - place is tick infested.

I do find this very humid weather totally exhausting & almost pressed into the chair.

We have had to remove quite a few ticks from the cats recently and I didn't think that you could get them in suburban areas to that extent. The weather is still lovely here which makes for a nice change so I am going to do a bit more in the garden before heading off for a wee shopping trip in town.
