One of my ex batts is expiring.
. Don't want to hasten it, just incase, but she looks like she will just fall asleep quietly. Well, nice if short retirement.

We deal with Planners on an almost daily basis & often they take their orders from above - not God but head of Planning & they have their hands tied. It is a very stressful job & they are now well under staffed & here are expected to cover a massive area.
I don't think anyone can argue thatit is a stress free job, in fact i imagine it is rather antagonistic at times. But that does not mean that they are efficient and accurate otherwise: it seem frequently they are not.
Fwiw, many peoe work within systems they do not design or respect efficiently......medics for example, and have huge responsibilty and areas. I think we in our house hold are fairly familiar with that....but there is NO doubt that despite respiecting the stress the service is inefficient, inaccurate and cumbersome.
Fwiw, building control seemed similarly tin godly. They insisted we put the septic tank one metre, yes, one metre, to the right of where we wanted it. Away from a building we own so it was safe from any run off from it. And closer to a building they own, which has a dripping gutter:rotfl:0 -

I'm afraid I won't have ex batts any more, they are just too much hassle.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Yeah, i had them before years ago. Of course, no more ex batts to rehome now!
Some other chooks...ex housed and free range though will be i guess!
I expected a loss rate of thrty to fifty percent.
The others seem so far pretty ok, getting very cheeky now, and i noticed to day one has feathered up very well!0 -

I suppose there still will hens to be rehomed, I guess they'll just be in a better condition, I think they just have bigger cages now.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
The planning dept my BiL has to deal with has one of the poorest track records in the country, but that doesn't stop them putting obstacles in his way every few months. They have just excelled themselves, demanding he do something which he would really like to do, but which seems totally impossible.
We're all very interested to see how they'll get out of this one, but as it's almost certainly something beyond their powers to demand, they'll probably just back down in the end, having wasted more time, and other people's money.
Here, we have a helpful, understanding planning dept, though if we were half a mile down the road, things would be different. I say this before we have submitted any plans, of course, but as we are starting with something pretty hideous, a bit of bartering would seem possible, as we're close to our development limit. For example, we have a truly awful sticky-out integral garage which we'll be more than happy to demolish.0 -

Round, and round and round they went!0
