Esure car insurance - New quote cheaper than renewal

I have got me renewal from esure stating £498 as per usual I have had a look around and found the cheapest quote is £424 from esure. Plus I will get £45 cash back from quidco.

Basically could I cancel my renewal with esure then book a new policy online with esure? as it would save me £120.

Has anybody done this?

Would it work?

There are quite a few threads on cash back for esure on MSE, do a search and they should come up.

I think there can be some issue with Quidco sometimes with esure so do a bit of research first. I think you need to delete your cookies so esure tracks it through Quidco properly but check this

Thanks for the heads up on that, regardless of the cash back I would still save money so its just down to can I cancel then take a new policy online?

I'm not sure they won't pick up that your not a new customer but I guess if you cancel your current one then restart you are in effect a new customer anyway!

Like I said try and delete your cookies when you go back to get your new customer quote as then it reduces the chances of More Thans website recognising you! I also think you have to go through Quidco to get the quidco cash back.

should work fine. however phone them up and tell them the price quoted on the web and see if they will match it to save yourself the hassle.

I would say buy your new policy 1st then phone them up to tell them you will not be renewing with them - you are not cancelling just incase they stupidly actually cancel your policy

I do this every year with my insurance.
When I phone them and say that they quoted me cheaper online for a new policy, they never can usually match it over the phone. So I just cancel old one and start the new one.
    This is with Tesco.

Weird but it's not too much hassle really.
