Hi to all.
was wondering if anyone would be able to help me and advise of what myself and my partner are entitled to now that we are expecting out second child and due to our circumstances I am going to give up work. Heres is a bit of background information;-
i currently work part time earning just over £6,000 per year basic. My partner works full time around 38 hours per week and earns roughly £22,000. We own our own home and currently have one child who is nearly 6. I am pregnant and due in October 2009 and will be giving up my job.
Been trying to find out what to claim now and what im entitled to but am finding this pretty confusing. Anyones help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll be entitled to SMP for the first 9 months of your maternity leave, I take it you mean you won't return from maternity leave to your current job, so when you inform them of your pregnancy you will just need to state you will not be returning to work after your ml and are resigning your post with effect from xxx (the date your paid ml runs out). You will also get the health in pregnancy grant £190 after your 24 week ante-natal appointment. You need to notify your employer in writing of your pregnancy before you are 25 weeks pregnant, this will then trigger them setting up SMP payments for you, to get the health in pregnancy grant you will be given a form by your midwife which can be sent off after the 24 wk appointment.
You will get additional child benefit for your 2nd child, and your H will need to check his entitlement to WTC and CTC.0 -
You don't need to hand your notice in until 8 weeks before your maternity leave is due to end I don't think so it might be worth waiting to keep your options open?
You will still get working tax credits but won't be able to claim the childcare if you are not working.....0 -
Your OH earns too much for WTC (its capped at around £17k) but you'll get some CTC and extra child benefit.0

You can get a good idea of entitlements by putting your details into entitledto.com (don't have to gave name/address etc).0
